Habits

I don't know about you, but lately i've been feeling a little...blah. Not stuck in a rut or lazy, but blah nonetheless. Maybe it's because you've had a long day, and you're tired, low on energy, or quite simply cant contemplate coming home to cook dinner or clean the house.

An amazing, relaxing holiday, followed by a really inconvenient injury, and a business trip, has left me feeling blah and deflated, and wondering how I can best get back on track.
You may not have seen many posts for awhile. The motivation has been lacking, so giving less than 100% to this fun and enjoyable space is not an option, and realistically the job that pays my bills, consumes a lot of my time, energy and thought processes currenly.
But excuses aside, this blog still makes me happy, and encourages me to continue to share inspiration and ideas with you all, in the hopes that you can take a little, or a lot away from it.

This week I've been dedicating time to catching up on sleep, energy, and enjoying looking forwards not backwards. Amazing things start to happen when you look forwards, who would have thought!

Monday, begins the start of a new week, of which I will be ridding myself of this blah mentality and implementing some new ideas and habits into my every day.

- Preparing meals the night before. This will allow me a little sleep in, but not compromise on healthy meals

- Stretching every night before move. Improving blood flow and flexibility

- Assess my weekly workouts to see what other results I can achieve from them

- Researching different food recipes for my next grocery shop and food prep opportunity

~

What are some new habits that you will be trying next week?

Friday Faves

Hmmm how to follow last week's Friday Faves that was all sunshine, sunscreen and cocktails?
Short but sweet, Friday Faves this week have the theme of thankfulness

Speaking of thankfulness, Mother's Day is this Sunday 11th April in Australia. Share with your mum the things she does that you're thankful for
xxx

Thankful for cold mornings that elicit warm cups of tea, that feels like a hug from the inside

Thankful for the bootcamp girls, who make the dark, outside night sessions motivating and hilarious, and just that little bit harder to skip out on a session

Thankful for the cooler weather, that gives me the excuse to burn candles at night. Romantic setting for one!

Thankful for this little muffin, who makes you feel loved

Thankful for Netball season. Glued to the TV on Sunday afternoons. The perfect weekend wind-down. What will my sister and I do once it's over?

Friday Faves ~ Bali Edition

Welcome back to Friday Faves!
In light of my recent holiday to Bali, this week's faves are all Bali based
Enjoy!

Potato Head Beach Resort
Located on Seminyak Beach, expect to pay Australian prices, but then agree that it's well worth it once you sample the hearty cocktail menu.
Chilled out tunes by a resident DJ, whilst holidayers float in the pool or at the swim up bar and watch the sunset. Couldn't go past a Pina Colada really...

Red Carpet Champagne Bar Fun
We walked past this place every night on our way back to the Villa, joking about how loud and busy the place was. So naturally we gave it a try. Best. Night. Ever
Broad range of champagne to choose from, and voted as "among the favourite drinking spots and social hangouts for expats and returning visitors to Bali".
Music requests can be submitted to the DJ, which they then play the film clips for on screens all around the bar. Sunday night music trivia turns into free shots as prizes. Yep, we went on a Sunday night!
Red Carpet Glam - Bali style (so a dress and thongs, winning!), screaming your lungs out to "Horses". Patriotism at its best.  Again, Best. Night Ever
Image courtesy of the website, because let's be honest, noone wants to see me doing the Macarena.

Motel Mexicola
Run by an aussie expat, this restaurant is on my visit list for every Bali trip.
Huge premises decorated in kitschy but cool Mexican style, with awesome food and live music. A few frozen margaritas later, and it won't matter that there's no dancefloor.
Favourite dishes amongst us were: De Pollo Chicken Quesadillas, Guacamole and Corn Chips, Slow roasted pork served with salsa de habanero. Did I mention the frozen margaritas?

Beach Walks
To escape the humidity, we headed off to the beach, to do a casual but productive beach walk from Seminyak to Legian. Bypassing all the shops and vendors from the street side, we walked barefoot through the water, bikini's on, and along the beach, checking out the resorts, holidayers, and locals playing on the sand. At our destination we stopped and had our rewards - a Bintang and a Coconut, because... when in Bali!
For something so leisurely, we woke up the next day with sore leg muscles. Great result!

Villa Life
Having only stayed in resorts when visiting Bali, we tried Villa accommodation this trip, as there were 6 of us girlfriends in total. This did not disappoint. No having to organise meeting areas, being poolside in your own private villa in the heart of Seminyak met all our needs. The beds were so huge, I was hardly aware of my bed buddy! Trips out on the street for meals and shopping, then back to the pool for sunbaking and swimming.
Cooking and cleaning performed at your request, music playing from a stereo, afternoon naps in your pool bean bag... Bliss!
